Craft has had a long association with Ronald McDonald House, spanning almost ten years. As a mother with two young boys Sue is always mindful of how lucky she and her husband are that their kids are well and healthy. For many Kiwi parents, a visit to the doctor with an ailing child can suddenly turn their world upside down. Fortunately the Starship Hospital is a world leader in paediatric care, particularly in oncology. The role of Ronald McDonald House® Auckland is to provide not only a home away from home but a centre of strength for families. It’s often too a support centre for young or even teenage parents with children facing terminal illnesses. These parents are having to learn life skills very fast indeed. Sue’s work for Ronald McDonald House® Auckland covers corporate identity including the iconic kids
logo, fundraising campaigns and merchandise, website design, email campaigns, newsletters, special event branding, corporate sponsorship collateral, bequesting collateral, social media and environmental graphics, with a particular focus on growing the friends and fundraising community that is the lifeblood of the House. The personality of the House is a mix of the professional and the informal, both welcoming and rules based, which reflects the environment where over 3,000 families have stayed each year since its opening in 1994. Ronald McDonald House is a brand about hope, but it’s also a brand that celebrates the strength and achievements of these very special families.
